Team Saskatchewan represented well at the 2019 Western Canadian Weightlifting Championships. With a team of 9 men and 9 women, the team took home 12 medals:

Polina Bespalova - 59kg Silver medalist
Abra Thompson - 64kg Bronze medalist
Alanna Bens - 71kg Gold medalist
Colton Anderson - 73kg Silver medalist
Dallas Odgers - 73kg Bronze medalist
Jason Cain - 81kg Silver medalist
David Samayoa - 89kg Gold medalist
Lucas King - 89kg Bronze medalist
Tyler Siwak - 102kg Gold medalist
Graham Unruh - 109kg Gold medalist
As a result, the Saskatchewan men’s team ranked #1 out of the four provinces. This is the first time Saskatchewan has ranked #1! The women’s team tanked #3 out of the four provinces.
David Samayoa was awarded Best Male Lifter having the best Sinclair out of all the men in the competition with a 390.22 Sinclair.

Graham Unruh - Senior Provincial 109kg snatch (140kg) and total (311kg) records
