SWA Newsletter - December 2022

Hi Everyone,

With 5 athletes lifting at Masters Worlds this week in Orlando, Florida (Congratulations Frances, on winning a Silver medal!), Alexis lifting at the 2022 Senior World Championships in Bogota, Colombia next week, and a great weekend of lifting the SWA is ending 2022 on a high note.

Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend to Kilostalk Weightlifting to compete, volunteer, coach, officiate, and spectate. It's great to see new and old faces at each competition. Before we close out the year, we have a few updates for you.

New Information:

  1. Online Officials Course, Level 4: The SWA Officials Committee plans to conduct online Level 4 Technical Officials certification courses tentatively 2 weeks before each SWA competition (beginning in 2023). This will provide ample opportunity for members to cover the theoretical and practical components of the Level 4 certification and become a fully certified Technical Official. If you or anyone you know are interested in becoming a Technical Official, please email offcls@saskweightlifting.com to be added to the contact list for upcoming courses.

  2. Canadian Masters November Update from Mark Gomes

  3. 2022-2023 SWA Rankings, Certificates, & SWA Records: These are up-to-date with local results, with the exception of the women's rankings which will be done this evening. If there are any errors or omissions, please let me know.
