Why do you desire to be vice president : Although I have just recently joined the SWA board of directors, I have decided to run for the position of Vice President of the SWA. Over the past month, through member comments and questions and my own reading of the Bylaws and policies, it has become apparent to me that the SWA needs to update its policies and procedures to become more transparent and to allow the SWA to run more efficiently. I have found that questions that have been directed to me and my own questions cannot be answered due to the fact that policies are ambiguous, conflicting or just missing. I believe that with my background, and the fact that I am coming into this with a fresh set of eyes, will allow me to contribute to the necessary process of updating the policies and procedures to better reflect the current state of affairs in a comprehensive manner.

It is obvious that previous boards have been dedicated and worked very diligently to grow the sport of weightlifting in Saskatchewan, with impressive success. That should continue as the primary and guiding principle of the organization. However, an important part of this is to provide our members with access to clear and consistent information that allows them to easily understand what the SWA is doing and how we operate.

What is your big goal for the SWA Board in your two year term: Provide our members with access to clear and consistent information that allows them to easily understand what the SWA is doing and how we operate. Ensure board follows legal requirements for board operation.
