2021 May Virtual Meet - General Info & Schedule

Athletes, Coaches, Officials, and Training Centers,

We are very pleased to announce that the first SWA virtual meet (Scheduled for May 30, 2021) has turned out to be a massive success and has surpassed our expectations on registration and involvement - Go Weightlifting!

We have recently brought on many new SWA training centers and members who have been chomping at the bit to get involved.  With all the new athletes we have a total of 77 competitors taking part. Due to this amazing response the SWA is forced to move the meet to over 2 days rather than a single day.  We will now be hosting the 2021 SWA virtual meet over May 29th and May 30th with an altered final schedule.

Attached is the FINAL rules and regulations for the meet and the adjustments to the schedule along with the video and Zoom guideline requirements.

We fully understand that these changes, although exciting for the growth of weightlifting, may cause inconveniences for participants.  We are asking that all participants please review the schedule and get back to us immediately with any concerns or conflicts and the SWA will try our best to accommodate athlete needs, but can not promise anything given the demands of the day and the competition regulations.  We are here to assist you as best we can and ensure that this meet moves forward as seamlessly as possible.

The SWA has also set-up a ZOOM call on Monday May 24th, 2021 @ 11:00am (SK time) for new coaches, officials, and anyone with questions regarding the set-up and requirements of the virtual meet. We will discuss; how to coach on zoom, how to read scoresheets, how to do weigh-ins, and answer any other questions coaches and athletes may have regarding the upcoming meet (hosted by Criag Astle and Chad Benko).  The zoom details are below;
