6 EVENTS:

6.1   Women: 45, 49, 55, 59, 64, 71, 76, 81, 87, 87+

- Top 3 per weight class  – determined by their respective totals (kg).

6.2   Men: 55, 61, 67, 73, 81, 89, 96, 102, 109, 109+

- Top 3 per weight class – determined by their respective totals (kg).

6.3 Top senior male, senior female, and junior (male or female) awards will be awarded based on Sinclair points. 

7 PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY:

7.1 An athlete participating in a SWA competition must be;

  • Duly affiliated member of the Saskatchewan Weightlifting Association (memberships may be purchased on site of competition or online at www.saskweights.ca)

  • A member in good standing with the Saskatchewan Weightlifting Association

    1. Speakers and Time keepers must be Category 4 or higher referees

    2. Technical operators need no referee qualifications

    3. The maximum amount of athletes participating at this Saskatchewan Weightlifting Association competition is 45.  This is an agreed upon limit due to the limits of the organizing committee.

  1. COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS:

    1. The competition rules will be governed by IWF Technical Rules (IWF Handbook 2019) – found here - https://www.iwf.net/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2019/02/IWF_TCRR_01012019_v2.pdf

  2. EQUIPMENT:

    1. Warm-up room: Same floor and room as competition platform (will be curtained off and separated from the competition platform. 

    2. Warm-up platforms: multiple warm-up platforms will be made available

    3. Warm-up barbells: Eleiko, York, and Rogue men and women’s barbells are available

    4. Competition stage level: floor level

    5. Competition platform: Regulation

    6. Competition barbell: Men’s and Women’s Eleiko barbells

    7. Referee light: Uesaka Electronic System

    8. Scoreboard: Electronic System 

    9. Attempt board: Electronic System

    10. Clock: Electronic System

    11. Scales:  Electronic scale

  3. DOPING:

    1. This competition is subject to in-competition drug testing administered by the Canadian Center for Ethics in Sport.  All athletes and coaches are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the applicable rules and procedures.   4. AWARDS:

    1. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded for the total athletes in each category

    2. A zero in the snatch does not eliminate athletes from the competition.  Athletes are allowed to continue in the clean and jerk, but do not receive points for the total.  Points are earned in the total only.

  5. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Entry fee (athletes only): $35 – if you have not purchased a SWA membership you must do so, unless competing from out of province. 

    2. Referees and Officials: Free

**All registration and memberships must be purchased on the SWA website as cash and cheque will not be accepted at the competition site.
